The move comes less than a month after the Brazilian signed with the Celtics following an appearance at Summer League with the Utah Jazz.

Caboclo, 26, was out of the NBA last season, playing at home with Sao Paulo FC.

The six-foot-nine Caboclo joined Limoges CSP of France in February 2021 after he was waived by the Houston Rockets.

The Raptors shocked the basketball community when they selected the unheralded Caboclo in the first round (20th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft.

On the NBA Draft broadcast, analyst Fran Fraschilla famously said Caboclo was “two years away from being two years away.”

Caboclo played just 25 games for the Raptors over the next four seasons, splitting time between Toronto and the then-D League.

The Raptors traded Caboclo to the Sacramento Kings in February 2018.

Caboclo’s best season came after he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in January 2019. For the rest of the season, he averaged 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 23.5 minutes in 34 games.
