New Marks and Spencer store to open on Llandudno retail park today

Marks and Spencer will open a new store on a Llandudno retail park today. The famous retailer has moved from Mostyn Street to Parc Llandudno.

They have taken on the former Debenhams unit after that brand closed last spring. It will officially open at 10am today.

M&S are creating another 50 jobs in the process, taking total job numbers to over 160. Yesterday afternoon workers at the Mostyn Street store walked together to the new site to mark the relocation.

M&S said it was the “very first store of its kind in Wales” with a “fresh-market-style Foodhall” and a 119-seat digital café. The Maelgwn Male Voice Choir and San Sior School Choir will perform at the store opening today as well as a harpist from Ysgol y Creuddyn.

Store manager Katie Whelan said: “My team and I are really excited to welcome the local community to our new Llandudno store. “As the first store of its kind in Wales, we also take pride in leading the way to make shopping more enjoyable and convenient.”
