Molly-Mae Hague asks fans if she can post about her holiday amid Ukraine crisis

Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague asked fans for permission whether or not she should about her holiday on social media amid the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

The 22-year-old influencer was recently slammed after sparking outrage after making “tone deaf” comments about wealth inequality and poverty on Dragon’s Den Steve Bartlett’s podcast Diary of a CEO.

The blonde bombshell was also attacked for her role as Creative Director at fast fashion brand PrettyLittleThing after the company was accused of paying workers in their garment factories as little as £3.50 an hour.

Molly-Mae asked her 6.2million followers if they wanted to see her holiday snaps and says it’s “impossible” not to feel guilty while Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russia.

In a bid to show her support for the crisis in Ukraine, Molly-Mae took to her Instagram on Monday to post some helplines and ways to donate, before posing the question to her loyal fans.

“Given everything that’s happening in the world right now I feel it’s impossible to carry on with life as normal without feeling guilty…

“I’m currently away for work shooting a campaign but haven’t known whether to share as usual for the people that come on Instagram to escape…

“I care about you guys so much and how my content makes you all feel [heart emoji].”

“Please let me know,” she added, with a question box that said “Keep you updated” and “Not at the moment”.

Over half of voters wanted Molly-Mae to keep posting as usual as the crisis continues.

The TV star has not shared her holiday location, but it’s likely she will now update her fans as they requested to see her content.

It comes as star’s fans have begged Molly-Mae to use her influence as Pretty Little Thing’s Creative Director to make changes into how much garment workers are paid, reports The Mirror.

After Molly-Mae’s latest runway show was hit by protests, a Pretty Little Thing spokesperson said ‘any suggestion’ ‘that garment workers for PLT or other Boohoo Group brands are paid lower than the minimum wage is ‘grossly inaccurate.’

In a statement to The Independent, they said: “We publish a list of all our approved UK and international manufacturers, all of whom have been audited over the last 18 months, and we do not tolerate any non-compliance with our supplier Code of Conduct.

“We operate a whistleblowing hotline so people can share any concerns they may have and we work with relevant government agencies to ensure the people who make our clothes have their rights in the workplace protected.”

Molly-Mae recently laughed off claims her Creative Director role is a walk in the park and says her 13-hour days prove her commitment.

Some pointed fingers and questioned how hands-on Molly would be in the seven-figure job.

But she told The Mirror anyone thinking she opens her laptop late in the afternoon after a day doing nothing couldn’t be more wide of the mark.

She set the record straight after some social media jabs poking fun at the Creative Director role and outlined exactly the lengths she goes to – and she is taking it very seriously.

“It’s hard to explain what a day looks like really,” she added. “One day I’ll be in at 9am and not leave until 10pm!

“I have just been in all day on Sunday, it doesn’t stop – and we have about 20 WhatsApp group chats that are pinging off 24/7, honestly!

“I have had to mute a few. Then I get a message saying ‘Molly, you haven’t replied in the group for about two days… get back on it’.

“I’ll be sending messages at 2am ‘I’ve just been thinking about this….’ At night my creative juices are really flowing so I have to tell someone!”

But she make sure she gets her down time.

“I have definitely worked hard but when I have a day off, I really have a day off!” she said.
