Biker taken to hospital after A5 lorry crash in Gwynedd



A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after crashing with a lorry.

The incident caused part of the A5 in Gwynedd to be blocked off as emergency services responded.

Traffic was held between Llwyn Bleddyn Road (Tregarth) and Tregarth Turn Off (Halfway Bridge) before the route was reopened at about 4pm.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that that the woman driving the motorcycle was taken for medical treatment.

They said: “Shortly before 2pm today (January 26) we received reports from the Welsh Ambulance Service of a collision on the A5 near Halfway Bridge.

“The two-vehicle collision involved a motorcycle and a heavy goods vehicle.

“Officers attended and temporarily closed a section of the road while an ambulance crew assessed injuries to the female motorcyclist.”
